Annual Golf-N-Give Raises $15,021.21 For Arbor Circle
Despite clouds threatening to rain on our 4th Annual Golf-N-Give, the weather held out, and the event was a huge success! This years’ charity golf outing took place on Thursday, July 27th at Scott Lake Golf Club in Comstock Park, MI. The proceeds benefitted Grand Rapids-based organization Arbor Circle, a nonprofit dedicated to serving those who suffer from the hidden or unaddressed effects of traumatic life experiences. Together, we raised the highest amount donated to date – a whopping $15,021.21!
Each year, the event facilitates networking (and fun!) to participating foursomes and sponsors throughout the day. The event kicked off with morning registration, where golfers signed in. They also could purchase raffle tickets and participation in course contests. Once everyone was signed in, Charlie Sundstrom gave a speech to commence the day of golfing!
Teams played in a scramble format. This means that all team members teed off on each hole, chose the best shot, and then placed a marker on that spot. Each team member then picked up their ball and hit it from the marked spot. This continued until the hole was completed.
As the golfers progressed through the course, they could meet with hole sponsors who provided snacks, games and conversation. After golfing, participants were treated to a steak dinner and an awards ceremony, where the winning team and contest hole winners were awarded prizes. The event concluded with an energetic live auction.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and sponsored this special event – it would not have been a success without you!
